Was looking for a medium weight waterproof jacket and the Kincraig Waterproof Jacket is perfect with many useful pockets and features and a great price.

Having bought Hoggs products for at least 25 years I was in no doubt that this coat would be as described The only issue with online purchases is selecting the appropriate size and I hope the following will help others to choose correctly. I am 6ft tall and weigh 15 stone, my chest measurement is 46 when wearing a light pullover and shirt. I ordered the xl size and it is a good fit with some room to add another layer if required. Some simple thing would have been helpful such as the Velcro strip on the hood neck being turned to the horizontal position to give some adjustment also a means of keeping the hand warmer pockets closed. Finally if the rear game pocked was made slightly larger and a hanging loop added it would have been better.

On a walk in monsoon like conditions on the isle of Kerrera near Oban, my waterproof jacket gave up on life. The search began and I looked at jackets in many camping and climbing shops. Plenty of them...bright, thin, padded, noisy surfaces but nothing that appealed. Then the Fife Country catalogue arrived and there is a fine choice. The Kincraig sounded perfect for my daily walk watching the local wildlife, often in rain. The jacket is warm and comfortable with ample pockets. The zip is tough as is the jacket. Yesterday it rained and I got home dry. I would go as far as to say that I'd happily wear my Kincraig in monsoon conditions whilst walking on the isle of Kerrera. Perfection.
