I have just received my fleece and wanted to tell you that I am very pleased with, good quality as usual.

Good morning, had occasion to give my fleece a proper test a few days ago in very cold ( for London) snowy conditions. Was out for about 4 hours but could stayed out for double that time at least. Under clothing was just a T shirt and long sleeved casual shirt which shows the quality of this jacket !!! Always recommending it. Regards Peter

Bought it a few weeks ago but today was the real trial. Walk on a North facing beach in a force 6 northeaster, snowing and 0°C. Couldn't have been more comfortable!

Just the best fleece jacket I have ever owned.

I bought this primarily for winter wear in an elderly open top sports car and having recently had a 40 mile trial run can only describe it as akin to an electric quilt - if such a thing existed. Sheer heaven.

Bought for my husband to wear in the winter as we do a lot of walking and visit the Norfolk coast so will keep the rain and cold winds at bay. It is well made and very warm

I am extremely pleased with the Ghillie. The quality of the material and expertly made jacket is great value for money and I am particularly pleased that the zip fasteners are sturdy and easy to operate.

I bought this fleece when they were £20 dearer and can safely say it’s the warmest fleece I have ever had on my back in 65 years well done Hoggs of Fife, I also bought the Sportsman waterpoof fleece at the same time and its £59:95 now as well.

Just received my third fleece since buying the first one years ago. Incredibly warm, comfortable and hard wearing, can`t be faulted.

I purchased this on the basis of other reviews although I was a little sceptical of some of the claims re warmth and wind proofness. On receipt I found a well made product of substantial weight. It fitted like a glove when I put it on and felt very snug. Suffice to say that I have been wearing it continually since last November and can say with certainty that it is water and windproof and as warm as the jacket I have previously worn during the winter months. As mentioned in other reviews the double zip can be tricky at times as it needs to be carefully lined up to close but one gets used to it. In conclusion I would say it is the best fleece I have owned to date at a very reasonable price compared to many others with a similar specification.

I purchased this Ghillie Waterproof Fleece recently and I am so pleased with it as it is so warm and very comfortable. It has the added benefit of being breathable and waterproof too. The three external pockets and one internal security pocket are all very useful. The customer service from Fife Country was excellent and I shall certainly be submitting another order from the superb range of clothing and footwear. Many thanks.

Bought this fleece a few months ago because I wanted something warm for the winter months. I love it. I find lots of fleeces too short, even though I am only 1.78m tall. This is fleece is an excellent length and is great for layering as well. I am so impressed with the quality and the feel that I have just bought a spring/summer fleece as well

An excellent fleece that keeps me warm on the beach in NE England. Fits well with a good zip. Hopefully it will be too warm in the summer.

A lovely warm coat of fine quality. It's quite bulky and heavy but nice to wear and definitely waterproof. The pockets are a little shallow but useful and the zip is easy to use. If it lasts as long as the Barber Dunmoor it replaces I'll be very pleased.

From ordering by phone Friday pm and receiving Monday am. The fleece is better than I expected from the fit to the warmth. I am well impressed with the service and quality.

Bought the Ghillie Waterproof Fleece for an autumn camping trip to the Pyrenees where, late evening and early morning, it can be pretty cold and it was superb. Warm as toast!

I have owned my Fleece for over 6 years and to this day it still remains warm and weatherproof. I would recommend to anyone. I fully intend buying a second should i need to do so. Excellent quality, truly.

I wore my Ghillie from Southern Norway all the way north to the Russian border at Kirkenes and the Lofotens. Temperatures as low as-15°C and wicked winds. Throughout it all I felt warm. The extra inside pocket is great to keep spare batteries warm and useful!

The jacket I ordered for my husband came yesterday. I didn't tell him I'd got him it. It was to be a surprise present. I saw the advert and as I'm a Fifer, I was quite taken with it.
We are both delighted with the jacket - colour, quality and warmth. This is one that will be worn - not left in the wardrobe like some have been, of other makes.

I ordered this for my husband, it came in under 3 days and is very good quality and he is surprised how warm it is.

Delighted with fleece, arrived within 3 days. Heavier than any fleece I have worn before. We live right on the east coast which can be bitterly cold. Have been out in it this morning in wind and rain, I remaind as warm as toast, fit is perfect you do not need many layers underneeth. Looking forward for another beest from the east.

I have recently ordered and taken delivery of your Ghillie Waterproof Fleece. Not the best time of year to receive it as the temperature where I live hit 28 degrees C yesterday. That said although I can't test its efficiency I am delighted with my first and hopefully not the last Fife Country purchase. The product is as described in your brochure and looks extremely well made, competitively priced and delivered promptly. I enjoy seeing your products in the brochure and hope to purchase more in the future. I just wish that I could visit your shop, maybe the next time I am in your part of Scotland. This is a fantastic fleece. Very warm and far better than the more popular brands. Great value for money.

On line reviews indicated the fleece arm lengths are very long so I ordered a next size down. The arm length is fine but the body length is too short! It is super warm though. Also, the double zip is very fiddly and gets stuck quite often at the bottom

I am pleased to tell you that my Ghillie Waterproof Fleece arrived safely yesterday and I am delighted with it. The colour, size and quality of the garment are all perfect, as was the prompt and efficient way my order was dealt with.
I have to tell you that I am 90 years of age and therefor did not order for hunting and shottong, but wanted a garment that would keep me warm and comfortable during winter months. When I put the jacket on I could feel the warmth immediately, and I am going to get a great deal of pleasure in wearing it in this cold weather.
I am only sorry I did not know about your company years earlier, but I hope I shall be spared for a few more years to enjoy it.
It is becoming extremely difficult to find such quality in the shops these days, and I am not on the internet. I am not at all surprised that your firm has been going for 130 years and am sure it still has a very long way to go.

Could not be happier with this jacket fleece. I am a keen birdwatcher, walker and all round outdoor guy. It is roomy, super warm and comfortable. To top it all it keeps out the rain and wind. I will be very interested to see how well it lasts with the regular outdoor pursuits I follow. I have had the Field Pro and Green King waterproof sets for years and they are still going strong. I feel confident this item will be similar.

It proved important to read previous reviews particularly with regard to sizing of this fleece. Normally I would be XL but the L fits perfectly even with three levels of clothing underneath. I was taken immediately by the quality of the fleece and wearing it has provided great warmth and comfort. Well done on such as a superb garment.

In December I ordered a Ghillie fleece from you as a Christmas present.
I had been disappointed with the quality and value of a well-known brand which I have purchased previously and this was by way of a trial with a new supplier.
The fleece arrived promptly and I am very pleased with it. I am now confident that I have found an alternative supplier of outdoor clothing.

I have recently worn this on a very cold and very wet day beating, this kept me warm and dry to the point of starting to sweat, well recommended.

The fleece is warm and cosy, keeping out both wind and rain. I wanted a replacement for a long used quilted lined fleece now past its best. The Ghillie is just the job. Very comfortable to wear, and used every day since it was delivered.

First a word on sizing. I got the large as I know from previous purchases that the jackets come up quite big (I am usually an XL). The large is a perfect fit but you could wear a thin layering underneath but to be honest, having used it with just a shirt in 0 degree temperatures, you don't really need to. Very warm and comfortable, soft fleece and enough pockets to be useful. Not tried it out in wet weather yet but other reviews seem to suggest it is fine. I am very pleased with the jacket and thoroughly recommend it if you need a warm and versatile fleece. Worth every penny.

I have just purchased a Ghillie Waterproof Fleece. First I had a problem with the zip, got over that. The biggest problem was the length of the arms, very very long. I have had to roll them up but on the whole I am delighted with the jacket and don't want to return it. I am getting old, old people I think would agree with me when trying to put your socks on in the morning that our arms are getting shorter and our legs getting longer. Maybe this is true and my arms have got shorter!!! Keep up the good work Fife Country and many thanks.

Ordered the Ghillie Waterproof Fleece in size XL this turned out to be a little on the big side for me I returned it requesting it in size Large, it arrived 5 days later and fits like a glove. This is a top quality fleece and will be great for those cold winter days.

Received the fleece today and am very satisfied with the quality. Ordered the 2XL I am a 50" and found it a little tight this will probably be better when I lose a little weight but all in all well satisfied I can recommend this product I will be ordering more clothing from this company.

Magic roll on winter

This is a quality Fleece will keep me warm and dry this coming winter and looks like it will last a good few years.Size is a size down from your normal size eggs I'm a XL but ordered large and spot on fitted like a glove.

Recently received this fleece and it is very warm and comfortable even in the bitter Dartmoor winds of the last few days. It is generous in size so prospective buyers may need to buy a smaller size than they might usually have. I can certainly recommend it. I haven't yet had it tested in rain.

My husband says it is the best fleece he has owned. Extremely warm and not heavy to wear. The sales advisor was very helpful because I was concerned with the sizing. Would definitely order again. I wish they did this fleece for women.

This fleece is well made, thickly quilted and very warm. The inside pocket is useful for keys and the draw cord is handy on cold and windy days. After an outing in the rain it dried off quickly in a warm room. Another good purchase.

Very impressed

I have had my Ghillie fleece now for over a year and it has been everywhere with it. It has seen outings in Scotland, Iceland and Mongolia and has performed magnificently. I was dubious about its waterproof qualities but these proved unfounded. If there was one improvement I could suggest and that is to add an elastic drawcord around the neck with the ability to cinch it tighter. For the price it is tough to beat this garment that is perfectly at home in the country.

Having recently purchased from you the Ghillie Waterproof Fleece, I was pleasantly surprised to have to return the item simply because I had ordered Large instead of Medium. Large these days often means too tight. Whereas this fleece was as the old large used to be. You sent the Medium out by return and I am more than pleased with the fit, the quality and the finish of the fleece.
This was my first order from you but it will not be the last.

I've had my Ghillie fleece for several years now and it still looks in great condition. In the colder weather it's never off my back and I wear it for various activities; bushcrafting, birding and even walking man's best friend and it's perfect for all of them. It is an exceptionally heavyweight jacket, guaranteed to keep you warm and dry, whatever the climate. The only improvement I would suggest, is to make the pockets larger. Service is second to none and the quality of all their garments is quite exceptional. Highly recommended!

I knew as soon as I put my arms through the sleeves and wrapped round the length of the jacket that I had been sent something that is really going to annoy my wife in a few years time. Every day now this jacket has found its way onto my body and already it has been soaked and warmed me from the cold snaps and chilly winds that the country has had over the last few weeks. I have not really done anything special to test this jacket out, there are some things that are just intuitive and the fact that I wear it every day, even in the house, bears testament to its practicality and from that viewpoint it is the perfect jacket.
This morning the weather was bright and windy and I had to go out in to the woods to view a new bushcraft training area, so naturally I wore the jacket because of the cold windy weather, after a short while the heavens opened and both rain and hail bounced down as though coming direct from Valhalla. I was soaked. My hair was dripping, my cotton German army trousers were soaked through, but the water pretty much dribbled off the jacket and even though the wind had replaced the wet, I was warm dry and protected. That fact that this jacket is so practical and does what it promises to do is one aspect, the other is the emotional bond which I am sure some wearers will develop as I seem to be, and the other wonderful feature is the price, it is simply too cheap compared to other branded fleeces. Many outdoor people who read this will know exactly what I mean when I say quite simply, I am in love.

To your credit it would be difficult to imagine a better garment than the Ghillie Fleece. It is the nearest thing to heaven on a cold day and worth more than you charge for it.

I PURCHASED THIS JACKET AND WAS A PERFECT FIT OTHER THAN THE SLEEVES WERE AT LEAST 3 INCHES TOO LONG AND THE CUFFS WERE AT LEAST 3-4 INCHES TOO LARGE IN THE CIRCUMFERENCE. HAD IT ALTERED BY THE LOCAL TAILOR.
