A comfortable shoe which looks smart which is most important for me. Haven't tested the waterproofing yet but they appear robust. Service from fife country a good standard.

I first encountered Hoggs of Fife at a local country shop in my town. It had stocked a few shoes and boots from different brands, but the most recommended products came from Hoggs of Fife footwear. I had only one pair of boots arriving in the country and was looking for a more casual but sturdy pair; with that, I found the Cardross Waterproof Shoe. It was a little uncomfortable out of the box but with enough use, the leather shoe took to the shape of my feet and now they feel like sturdy socks. Warm and comfy. I haven't ceased using it, I've always cared for it as it does for me walking through rough trails and I'll be looking to purchase more items from the brand. If you're looking for shoes for your time in Scotland, Hoggs of Fife is the way to go.

I now have 2 pairs of these shoes. They are very comfortable and sturdy and, most important of all , as far as I am concerned at my age,(76), the soles cushion my knees when walking. I can do considerable distances over rough or easy ground without feeling any joint pain. It is easy to keep my feet dry and the soles and uppers wear very well. I see no purpose in getting trainers, which do not keep dry and do not cushion one's joints. These shoes have excellent grip going cross country.
